We are operated by Swell Ventures LLC. We built this because radon in this county is both unusually common and unusually badly served by generic national advice. 25 of Hunterdon County's 26 municipalities are NJDEP Tier 1. The bedrock changes three times across twenty miles. A large share of the housing predates 1900 and has no slab to work through. And most rural households here draw water from the same fractured rock that produces the gas, which is a second route into the building that an air-side system does not touch.
None of that is in a national explainer. We do one thing — connect you with certified local businesses that do the work — and we try to do it honestly.
Where we work
We cover 32 towns across Hunterdon County and its immediate borders, grouped by what is under them rather than by ZIP code. Our service-area pages talk about bedrock, housing stock and water supply town by town instead of repeating one generic pitch with the name swapped.
How we vet the businesses
Before any contractor receives a referral from us, we confirm on the NJDEP register that their radon certification is active. New Jersey certifies radon measurement and radon mitigation separately under N.J.A.C. 7:28-27, and a business certified for one is not thereby certified for the other, so we check them separately and route accordingly, and we record the date we checked. Insurance is not part of that check, and nothing here should be read as confirming that any business carries liability cover. How we're paid
Certified radon businesses pay us for job referrals. Homeowners never pay us anything, and we take no part of what you pay a contractor. That is worth knowing so you can weigh what we say accordingly: we have an interest in you contacting a contractor, and no interest in which one you choose or whether you hire them at all.
